We are halfway through September and heading into a strange new fall, having witnessed and experienced an extremely hot August embroiled in social and racial unrest inspiring new calls for social justice. It turns out that August, historically, has seen a number of significant events that have shaped our country and its struggle toward equality. The brutal lynching of Emmett Till, President Johnson’s signing of the Voting Rights Act, the murders of three civil rights workers in Mississippi, and Martin Luther King’s historic March on Washington, just to name a few.

Join Our Justice 4 All Initiative as we host our next #SmartStartsTheCoversation Event on September 17th at 5:30pm as we view CBS News’ documentary “The Power of August” and engage in a conversation focused on where we have been, and where we would like to see our country by August of 2021.
